First Things First

It's been almost three months since closing on/moving into Cornell and Chris and I have finally decided to start posting about our different projects and progress, etc.  Currently, I'm living there by myself, and Chris, the poor guy, has half of his life at his apartment in Somerville, north of the city, and the other half with me in Roslindale, so he shuttles back and forth a lot each week.  We try to rotate where we are every other night or so (either Rozzie or the 'Ville) but it's hard when there's so much work to be done at Cornell -- it's difficult to resist the urge to be there all the time and power through to get all of our projects done.  I'm more of a get things finished as soon as possible kind of person; I can't stand to be living out of boxes and whatnot. Whereas Chris, on the other hand, is very methodical and thoughtful, and likes to take his time to get everything just right -- more of a measure twice, cut once kinda guy.  So far, it's been a good balance, but we still have a lot of work to do!  We'll finally be together in one place permanently this fall, so we're trying to get a head start on our To Do list.

Some of the projects we currently have on deck:
  • Painting every. Single. Room.
  • Installing new light fixtures and re-purposing other fixtures to match our style.
  • Landscaping the back yard.
But as much as this blog is going to be focused on renovations, interior design and all that stuff, I think we're also going to try to highlight different areas of our lives, including all the other awesomesuperamazing stuff we're up to -- trips we take, great food we make... plus we're planning to start home brewing some of our own beer in the coming months, so be prepared for lots of discussion around that.

Should be a fun adventure!
